OptaFuel is pioneering the development and commercialization of new technologies for the transformation of renewable non-food feedstock to cellulosic biofuels, chemical building-blocks, and biomaterials.  Our technology successfully integrates two crucial steps - chemical pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis. The result is a patented process that offers significant improvements in processing conditions and operating cost compared to other available technologies. OptaFuel was founded in 2009. The company is headquartered in Norton, Virginia and is developing a pilot plant in Southwest Virginia.
